My Coaching Journey

I am a Civil Servant with years of experience in setting up and leading multi-million-pound programmes and UK-wide policy in order to bring cutting edge technology to bear on some of our most complex societal challenges. I’ve enjoyed building and leading teams with a growth mindset, who are willing to take calculated risks and make change happen.

Coaching has always been a key element of my leadership, and at some point in late 2018 I reflected on just how much I enjoyed the time that I spent coaching with my team and decided to bring more of this into my life!

In 2021, I completed a diploma in Transformational Coaching with the excellent Animas Centre for Coaching, which is accredited by the International Coaching Federation and the Associations of Coaches. Since starting, I have been coaching leaders and career changers both within the Civil Service and outisde of it.

In early 2022 I had the opportunity to take a part-time jobshare role, which is allowing me to combine my Civil Service role as co-head of a team delivering a crucial component of the Government’s £1Bn Net Zero Innovation programme, with two days of my week ‘giving back’ to other leaders through my coaching.

My career in the Civil Service has been focused around delivering innovation, which has taught me a lot about embracing change. To make changes, no matter whether they’re personal or organisational, large or small, often requires bravery, a willingness to show vulnerability, and to take calculated risks.

I have a strong connection with the public sector and organisations delivering social impact, and I’m using my coaching to support leaders in these sectors, who have faced particularly acute leadership challenges in recent years.

This desire to help leaders make positive societal change to happen sits at the root of my coaching practice.
